I graduated Chiropractic College in 2000 from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. I began practicing in Michigan in 2004 as an associate with Desira Chiropractic Life Center (Westland) for two years. Then in 2006 I moved to the Washtenaw area and opened Ann Arbor Chiropractic Wellness Center and have been very happy treating a wide variety of patients.
Being a Michigan native I knew I always wanted to practice close to home. Following graduation in 2000 I enlisted into the U.S. Army as a Medical Treatment Sergeant. This is where I met my beautiful wife, JinHye. We now have four healthy children (Lori, Nicholas, Ashley, Justin) and live in Pittsfield township (Ypsilanti). We love the Washtenaw community and plan on staying for a very long time.
My first chiropractic experience was very similar to most of my patients. I had hurt my back playing college tennis. The pain was sudden and I couldn’t afford to be sidelined for even a day. So I went to Dr. Gregg Chiropractic Life center on advice from a fellow teammate. This one visit had changed my whole life. I had always been looking for that special career. Because my brother had died suddenly and without warning of an enlarged heart at the age of 16, following a tennis match, I had a special interest in learning as much as I could about maintaining a healthy body. Following the consultation with Dr. Gregg, during which he talked about the brain-body connection and nerve interference, I knew chiropractic could help everyone, and that I should become a chiropractor.
The essence of chiropractic philosophy is not just treating the symptom but treating the whole body to restoring a balanced nervous system. I don’t know whether having his spine checked early in life would have prevented my brother from dying suddenly, but the M.D. sport physicals he obtained since age five didn’t help either.
So, I am committed to providing the highest quality of care to the community by delivering an interference-free nervous system which allows each individual to reach their maximum health potential, adding years to life and life to years.
We offer a positive holistic approach to health that respects the inner wisdom of the human body.
Sincerely, Michael J. Meath D.C.
